On our way home from a weekend at the beach, we picked up a flat of local strawberries. Not organic but local, and more than I can get in my neck of the woods right now. They were delicious. 1/3 were used for strawberries and crepes. One of our favorite meals. Mostly all local. I have dairy issues to the soy milk in the crepes was not local, and the dark chocolate syrup I put on top of mine was not local, but everything else was. YUM!!!

The rest of the strawberries went into Strawberry jam, my favorite.

We haven't gotten the first local strawberries here yet, but I'm hoping soon.... I make egg/dairy free crepes that are so good with strawberry sauce, your post has started a new craving!
